School equips children with ‘sound attitude’ towards money

St Peter’s Primary School in Chorley has recently gained Accredited Centre status for the DebtAware Money Management Programme.

The school has been involved in the programme for several years, believing that the long term impact of the programme will reduce the negative effects of debt.

Head Teacher Mrs Wright said; “Not only does the scheme teach pupils important life skills in good management of money in the home environment, it also develops confidence amongst the mentors who present to other children in school. We are so proud to be presented with an award for our mentors who fully deserve praise for their enthusiasm and dedication.

“We are delighted to have been involved in the programme and hope to share messages with other schools about the benefits of the initiative.”
