DebtAware holds meeting with the Bank of England

Chief Economist visits charity headquarters

Debt Advice Foundation recently welcomed the Bank of England to discuss the charity’s financial education programme, DebtAware.

Andy Haldane, the Bank’s Chief Economist, and John Young, the BofE’s North West Agent, were in attendance, along with Debt Advice Foundation CEO David Rodger, Chair of the Board of Trustee’s Dennis Benson OBE and DebtAware Education Manager Brian Souter MBE.

The duo discussed many aspects of the programme with the team, such as the unique way the money lessons are delivered to pupils, as well as the future aims of the charity.

Speaking after the meeting, DebtAware Education Manager Brian Souter said;

“It is fantastic to see such an important institution take an active interest in financial capability in schools.

“It is clear that Andy and his team strongly believe in the need for financial capability aimed at children and young people, via programmes such DebtAware.

“We look forward to welcoming the Bank along to one of our lessons in the future, so they can really see the programme in action.”
