Accountancy firm tee-up first fundraiser

Golfers endured blustery conditions for the cause and raised over £3,000

Seventeen teams of golfers took part in a successful Charity Golf Day event organised by chartered accountancy firm Langricks and raised over £3,300 to help our money education programme for children.

Langricks has made an ongoing commitment to DebtAware to raise funds to support our unique ‘Money Skills for Life’ programme in primary schools.

Chris Langrick, Director at Langricks Accountants commented:

“It was a great turnout and we are thrilled with the initial money raised – it is going towards financial literacy in the young which we are passionate about helping to develop.”

Brian Souter, Education Manager at DebtAware added;

“We are a small charity tackling big issues so are hugely grateful to Langricks and their support to date.”

Raffle prizes on the night which helped contribute to the total included a signed Liverpool shirt by Steven Gerard, home match tickets to Huddersfield Town FC and a basket of Italian delicacies from Casa Italia in Wilmslow.

The evening was rounded off with a talk on the past work and future direction of DebtAware, presented to the attendees by Education Manager Brian Souter MBE and the charity’s Chairman of Trustees Dennis Benson OBE.
